Where I am going to rant.
1). If you cheat on your girlfriend, feel guilty about it, and then buy her an engagement ring to make yourself feel better, you’re wasting your time. Your marriage is completely doomed. Where there is no honesty there is no future.
2). There are lots of different body types. Some people are super super skinny. Some people are average. Some people are a little bit hefty. It happens. But just because someone is super super skinny, it doesn’t mean they’re anorexic. And just because someone is hefty, it doesn’t mean that they’re unhealthy. They’re just built bigger than other people. And even if they’re eating like nine cheeseburgers a day and they weigh 300 pounds, who are you to judge them? Apparently that makes them happy. And they may die younger, but so will smokers, and that is an individual personality choice. You can’t encourage a population to love their bodies, and then decided that some people shouldn’t.
3). It’s 2011, and you really can’t do shit without a degree anymore. My cousin needed a college degree to sell cell phones. You can’t even manage a shoe store without a degree now. So I’m all about finding your own way in life, but you’re really just going to find yourself working at a dead end job with little to no future unless you get some kind of higher education. I mean there’s the off chance that you will make a movie, or write a novel, or invent something that then gets sold for millions of dollars, but depending on that 1 in a million chance is childish and idiotic. You need to have a back up plan.
4). Moving away from your problems isn’t the solution to them. You end up alone, in a new place, with new problems, and your old ones waiting back wherever you came from, crouched and ready to bite you in the ass as soon as you return. And if you don’t return, well, then you just have all these unresolved issues for the rest of your life. And then when you die, you’ll have to roam the earth forever.
Maybe that last part is wildly inaccurate. But who really wants to take that chance?
5). People need to get more credit for being honest and forthcoming. The people that are two faced all the time and tell everyone exactly what they want to hear always seem to come out on top. But the ones who are honest and say things you may or may not want to hear, end up being the bad guy for voicing their interpretations, and trying to give out honest answers.
That’s my rant, which I did not proofread. I’m sure there are errors and I’m sure people will find them immediately and focus in on them, instead of my actual point.
